This Saturday (10th March 2018) will see the first public event of the newly founded Friends of Ballymacarrett Orange Hall.
The Group have organised an Open Day in their hall to promote the various branches of the Loyal Orders in East Belfast.
The Event will have on display lots of military artefacts, old banners and various information stalls where people can get more information about the orders and also how to join or rejoin.
Friends of Ballymacarrett Orange Hall was recently formed by a group of members all under the age of 35. The groups purpose is to give a greater social aspect to our orders and also to help promote the institutions at local community events.
Event Organiser and Chairman of the group, Wor. Bro. Christopher Cunningham said that the idea of the day is “To promote the loyal orders in Ballymacarrett and to bring together the youth and those that consider themselves friends of
the hall in a fraternal bond. It is our desire to see many come in from the local community and learn about their history and to hear the story we have to tell. We trust that from hearing this many will indeed join us and continue on the tradition of their forefathers.”
